Join me on a 3-hour walking tour through one of Bucharest’s most iconic and historically rich avenues—Calea Victoriei. This journey will take you through centuries of architectural splendor, from neoclassical palaces to modernist landmarks, while unraveling the fascinating stories behind them.
We’ll start at the elegant Ateneul Român, passing by the grand Palatul Regal and the historic Biblioteca Universitară. As we stroll along, we’ll uncover the secrets of hidden streets and historic houses nearby, each with its own untold story. We’ll then explore the symbolic Piața Revoluției and admire the contrast between the past and present at some of the most striking buildings on the boulevard.
Walking down Calea Victoriei, we’ll take some detours inside the financial headquarters, charming passages, and other architectural treasures that have witnessed the rise and transformation of the city. Expect surprising details, forgotten stories, and a new perspective on Bucharest’s vibrant past.

Starting at Piața Universității, we’ll explore iconic landmarks such as the National Theatre, the Equestrian Statue of Mihai Viteazul, and the historic University of Bucharest.
As we stroll along Bulevardul Victoriei, admire the architectural grandeur of the Romanian Athenaeum and Palatul Regal, now home to the National Art Museum. Along the way, we’ll dive into fascinating stories about the communist era, including how the city was reshaped during the systematization process. Expect detours through hidden streets, where we’ll observe the striking contrasts between pre-communist elegance and the stark, imposing architecture of the communist regime.
We’ll continue through the Old Town, with its charming Stavropoleos Monastery and the lively Caru’ cu Bere, before heading to the monumental Palatul Parlamentului, one of the largest administrative buildings in the world.
